Achieving carbon neutrality in 2050 with Ademe

Ademe’s study "Transition(s) 2050", published on 30 November 2021 gives a prediction for achieving carbon neutrality in France by 2050.

Created for metropolitan France, 4 scenarios all result in carbon neutrality for the country, but they take different routes and correspond to different societal choices.

This analysis serves as a complement to previous work by integrating the topic of societal transition. It is based on the 2018 IPCC report, the goals set by the Energy-climate law and the National Low-Carbon Strategy (NLCS).

Like the scenarios for NegaWatt and Electricity Transmission Network, it is meant to serve as a source of inspiration for public decision-makers and the choices they’ll have to make in relation to energy and society.
