The official report by France Hydrogène about the skills and professions of the hydrogen sector

France is in need of engineers, technicians and operators trained in the professions that are present across the entire hydrogen value chain. The rise in skills among industrialists and regions about these challenges is crucial for the development of the sector and the transition to new energy systems.

France is in need of engineers, technicians and operators trained in the professions that are present across the entire hydrogen value chain. The rise in skills among industrialists and regions about these challenges is crucial for the development of the sector and the transition to new energy systems.

In its official report "Skills-professions associated with the Hydrogen sector – To anticipate for a successful deployment of a strategic industry", France Hydrogène identified 14 domains of skills and 84 professions, of which 17 were in high demand for this sector. The potential for creating value and jobs relates to every sector under development, from production through to storage.

New training courses are being created all over the country. Over the coming months and years, it will be important to guide youngsters towards these new skills and inspire them to invest their time and energy in the technologies necessary for an innovative and carbon-neutral France.
